An opportunity is available for a special education teacher specializing in science, specifically Chemistry, to work with 11th and 12th-grade students in Fitchburg, MA. This role is based in a charter school setting, offering a contract position with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week. The position provides a focused caseload within one school, allowing for meaningful student engagement and specialized instructional support.

Key qualifications and experience include:

• Valid Massachusetts teaching certification, particularly in special education and science disciplines.
• Expertise in teaching Chemistry to upper secondary students (grades 11-12).
• Experience working with diverse learners, including those requiring special education services.
• Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, behavioral technicians, or healthcare staff as needed for student supervision and support.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Primary responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated Chemistry instruction aligned with curriculum standards.
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.

• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies accordingly.
