Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Science Teacher specializing in Chemistry for 11th and 12th-grade students. This full-time contract position offers a 37.5-hour workweek at a site located in Fitchburg, MA. The contract will be for the current school year.

Qualified candidates must hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching Certification and have experience working with high school students, particularly in science and special education settings. The teacher will be responsible for delivering a rigorous chemistry curriculum tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with special education requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with state standards for 11th and 12th-grade chemistry.
  • Adapt lessons to accommodate students with a range of learning abilities and support individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other support staff as provided by the district.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of academic performance.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts Teaching Certification in Special Education and/or Science.
  • Experience teaching high school chemistry.
  • Ability to work effectively with students requiring special education support.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Location: Fitchburg, Massachusetts Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Duration: Current school year (contract)
