A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Indianapolis, IN, specializing in Life Skills within a self-contained classroom for grades K-2. This contract position offers a supportive environment focused on delivering tailored educational experiences to young learners with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students within the Life Skills curriculum.
- Manage and lead a self-contained classroom for students grades K-2, fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with educational staff, parents, and specialists to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Utilize specialized instructional techniques and resources to support the unique needs of each student.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with Life Skills curricula and self-contained classrooms at the elementary level.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
