Job Description

This contract opportunity spans the 20262027 school year, starting as soon as possible and continuing through May 2026. Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will be central to fostering growth and achievement for a unique and inspiring group of learners.

As a key educator, youll create a structured, supportive environment designed to meet students individual needs and help them reach important milestones. Youll collaborate with other professionals, communicate regularly with families, and implement individualized education plans to ensure your students success in a caring and stable learning space.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification in Special Education (appropriate state credentials required)
  • Experience working with high school-aged students, particularly with significant cognitive impairments
  • Familiarity with self-contained classroom environments
  • Strong skills in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Ability to foster a positive, patient, and inclusive classroom culture
  • Collaborative spirit and commitment to ongoing professional growth

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to each student's abilities and needs
  • Develop and implement IEPs, track progress, and maintain accurate records
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to ensure accessibility and promote academic, social, and life skills
  • Foster effective communication with parents, paraprofessionals, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing classroom atmosphere where all students feel supported
