Job Description

A full-time, onsite special education teaching opportunity is available at an elementary self-contained classroom in Fenton, MI, designed for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role focuses on delivering personalized instruction and support tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering academic and developmental growth within a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) specific to each students needs.
  • Design and deliver differentiated instruction using evidence-based strategies for students with ASD.
  • Create a structured classroom that addresses communication, behavior, and sensory requirements.
  • Utilize data collection and progress monitoring to guide instruction and intervention decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with special education staff, general education teachers, therapists, and families to support student success.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavior supports to promote positive outcomes.
  • Facilitate the development of communication, social, and life skills.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education laws and regulations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan.
  • Proficient knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
