What You'll Bring:

• Active West Virginia Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-age students
• Familiarity with moderate to severe special education needs
• Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Effective communication skills with students, families, and staff
• Organizational skills and a patient, compassionate approach

What You'll Do:

• Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of two students with moderate to severe needs
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to accommodate individual learning styles and goals
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to support student development
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
• Employ evidence-based strategies to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
