Job Description

Become an integral part of a dedicated school team providing support to students across a wide range of grade levels in the role of Special Education Teacher. This contract position offers the unique opportunity to work with learners from early childhood (Pre-K and Kindergarten) through high school (Grades 912), nurturing growth and learning at every stage. Your expertise will contribute to inclusive education, supporting students with diverse needs and backgrounds.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with students in one or more grade levels from Pre-K through 12th grade
  • Demonstrated ability to support and differentiate instruction for students with a variety of learning needs
  • Background in curriculum development and classroom management
  • Skilled in IEP development and implementation
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of best practices in teaching Math and adapting lessons for special education

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students in small groups or one-on-one settings
  • Develop and modify individualized education plans (IEPs) to support specific learning goals
  • Work in partnership with general education teachers to create inclusive learning environments
  • Track and report on student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with families to encourage involvement
  • Foster a classroom climate that encourages respect, safety, and academic risk-taking
