Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) in Colorado.
  • Experience teaching elementary-aged students, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based instructional strategies for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Demonstrated collaborative mindset and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and support staff.
  • Skills in creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualized instruction to elementary students with autism, adapting lessons for varied abilities and learning styles.
  • Develop and maintain IEPs, progress monitoring, and assessments aligned with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education teachers to maximize student success.
  • Provide ongoing communication with families about student progress and strategies for support.
  • Support students social, emotional, and behavioral growth in coordination with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all special education documentation requirements.
