Job Description

Key Requirements:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification in Michigan
  • Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in a special education context
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education law
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to create and implement differentiated lessons to meet each student's needs

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to elementary students with varying learning needs
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans to align with IEP goals
  • Monitor student progress and regularly assess academic and behavioral objectives
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure integrated support services
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for every child
