Special Education Teacher

Position Details:

  • Job Type: Full-Time, Full School Year
  • Grade Level: K2nd Grade
  • Support: Paraprofessional support in classroom
  • Location: Evanston, IL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction based on students IEP goals
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and student progress
  • Create a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Special Education teaching certification PEL
  • Experience with early elementary students preferred
  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and build positive relationships
  • Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
