Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with special education teacher endorsement
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally with primary (K-1) students
- Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management abilities
- Ability to implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and adapt instruction to student needs
- Up-to-date knowledge of best practices, state regulations, and accommodations for students with disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction to assigned kindergarten and first-grade caseload
- Assess student needs and progress, supporting IEP goals and fostering academic and social development
- Collaborate with families, staff, and related service professionals
- Maintain organized records, ensure regulatory compliance, and advocate for each student's needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom community
