Job Description

Seeking dedicated professionals passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs in Life Skills programs. This is a full-time, contract opportunity for Special Education Teachers working in schools in and around Eugene, OR. Assignments will be finalized at the end of the school year, and candidates will need to be flexible regarding specific placement and school locations throughout the district.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and current Oregon Special Education teaching license required
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in Life Skills or similar specialized programs
  • Strong commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
  • Openness to varying school locations and assignments as determined closer to contract start
  • Dedication to meeting the needs of students with moderate to severe disabilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students in Life Skills programs, focusing on academic, behavioral, and daily living skills development
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate unique learning styles and goals
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with support staff and families
  • Monitor student progress and maintain detailed educational records
  • Work proactively with school staff and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support
  • Foster a safe, positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and growth
