Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to make a real difference. Youll work closely with students who have mild to moderate disabilitieshelping them reach their fullest potential alongside a friendly, collaborative team.

In this role, youll engage with a diverse caseload of approximately 32 elementary-age students. Some spend most of their day in a specialized setting, while others join for targeted support. Youll benefit from strong paraprofessional support in the classroom, ensuring you have the assistance you need to deliver quality instruction.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Oregon Teaching Certificate required
  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the elementary level
  • Proficiency supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities
  • Ability to adapt instruction and provide individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement effective learning strategies for each student
  • Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in collaboration with families and support staff
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work alongside paraprofessionals to address individual needs
  • Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of student progress
  • Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams

This contract offers 37.5 hours per week from now through the end of the academic year, with the potential for renewal. The position is ideal for those interested in making a significant impact within an elementary school community.
