Job Description

Step into an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in a collaborative and resourceful educational environment. This contract opportunity focuses on providing high-quality instruction and individualized support to a diverse caseload of 32 elementary learners with mild to moderate disabilities. Youll work alongside dedicated paraprofessionals to foster growth and achievement for students who receive services both in self-contained settings and through inclusive classroom experiences.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Oregon teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the elementary level
  • Knowledge of best practices in providing instruction and accommodations for students with mild to moderate disabilities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging with students, families, and team members
  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned with each students IEP goals
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Foster a supportive, structured classroom atmosphere with paraprofessional assistance
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust interventions as necessary
  • Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families
  • Participate in IEP meetings, conferences, and relevant professional development
  • Effectively manage a 32-student caseload, ensuring compliance and advocacy for every child

This position promises meaningful work with the potential for contract renewal at the end of the school year. You will work a standard schedule of 37.5 hours per week in a supportive elementary setting, ideally situated within reach of Eugene, Lowell, and Corvallis.
