Job Description

This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized educational support within an elementary school setting, serving students with mild to moderate disabilities. Located in Eugene, OR, with opportunities in nearby Lowell and Corvallis, this role focuses on delivering individualized instruction tailored to a diverse caseload of approximately 32 students.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to elementary students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to support students learning throughout the school day.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies to meet varied educational needs.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state guidelines.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Oregon teaching certification, specializing in Special Education.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Ability to manage a caseload with varied instructional needs.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with staff and families.
  • Knowledge of state and federal special education regulations and best practices.

Position Details:

  • Location: Eugene, OR (with options to work in Lowell or Corvallis, approximately 50 minutes away).
  • Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Contract Duration: Current school year through the end of year, with possibility for renewal.
  • Student Population: Elementary-aged children receiving special education services part-time or throughout the school day.
  • Support: Access to paraprofessionals to assist within the classroom setting.
