Take on a meaningful contract position providing direct and indirect special education support to a diverse group of students for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is based in a supportive educational setting near Estill Springs, TN, and offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of approximately 23 students, including a student who is learning Braille. This role is centered on instructional time rather than case management, allowing you to focus on building individualized learning experiences.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active, valid Tennessee Educator License issued through TNCompass (Practitioner License: Initial 3-year standard or alternative/job-embedded pathway license, or Professional License: Standard 6-year advanced license).
- Must hold at least one of the following TDOE Special Education endorsements:
- Special Education Interventionist (K-8)
- Special Education Interventionist (6-12)
- Special Education Comprehensive (K-12)
- Special Education Early Childhood (Pre-K-3)
- Experience providing both direct and indirect instructional support to students with varying disabilities, including those requiring Braille instruction, is highly valued.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect instructional minutes to assigned students as mandated in IEPs.
- Adapt and implement learning strategies tailored to individual student needs, including sensory-impaired support.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and document services provided.
