Job Description
Seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students in an educational setting located in Essex Junction, VT. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with students who have diverse learning needs, providing tailored instruction to help them succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in accordance with state guidelines
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the individual needs and abilities of students
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records of academic performance and behavioral observations
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student development and address concerns
- Participate in professional development and team meetings as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with specialization in Special Education
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting
- Strong understanding of special education laws, policies, and best practices
- Ability to design and implement lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, creativity, and dedication to student success
