Job Description

A school-based special education teacher position is available at a K-12 school in Cleveland, Ohio, focused on supporting students in grades K-3. This contract assignment runs for the current school year and requires an Ohio Special Education Teaching Certification.

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Job Duration: Current School Year (Contract)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week
Age Group: Kindergarten through 3rd Grade

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Valid Ohio Special Education Teaching Certification
  • Experience working with students requiring special education services within K-3 age group
  • Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and differentiated instruction techniques
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, therapists, and families
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver special education instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and federal special education regulations
  • Communicate proactively with parents and team members regarding student goals and achievements
