Key Qualifications:
- Active Maryland Special Education Teaching License required
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, especially at the high school level, is highly valued
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Committed to fostering inclusion and advocating for students with diverse learning needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to students unique learning requirements
- Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to create and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Utilize evidence-based classroom management strategies
- Adapt lesson plans and instructional materials as needed to support a dynamic high school caseload
- Contribute positivity and expertise to a year-round academic schedule, giving students ongoing support throughout the school year
