Job Description

This full-time, contract role focuses on guiding a small group of six students alongside two experienced paraprofessionals, all within one dedicated elementary school. Your qualifications:

  • Active North Carolina SPED teaching license (NC SPED)
  • Previous experience working in special education, preferably with elementary-aged children
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals and district personnel
  • Passion for helping students develop academic and behavioral skills

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Foster a safe, consistent, and encouraging classroom environment
  • Work closely with paraprofessionals to deliver consistent behavioral support
  • Track progress and maintain accurate records for each student
  • Communicate with families and school staff regarding student development and success strategies
  • Participate in training sessions and district meetings as required
