Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold valid North Carolina Special Education (SPED) licensure
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children in a self-contained or behavioral setting
  • Strong classroom management skills, patience, and adaptability
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with paraprofessionals and school staff
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Lead instruction for six elementary students with behavioral needs in a self-contained classroom
  • Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting curriculum as needed
  • Collaborate closely with two paraprofessionals to provide targeted support
  • Utilize evidence-based behavioral interventions and data-driven strategies
  • Communicate regularly with families, related service providers, and members of the student support team
  • Document progress, behaviors, and participate in all required meetings
  • Adhere to school and district policies, including participation in required onboarding and background checks
