Step into a dynamic educational setting working with middle school students in a self-contained classroom focused on supporting those with severe disabilities. This contract position offers the chance to provide specialized instruction and foster meaningful growth for every student.
As a Special Education Teacher, you'll work onsite and collaborate closely with colleagues, school staff, and families to deliver high-impact education and interventions. This full-time opportunity is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, spanning the academic year from mid-August to late May.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher license for Nebraska (NE SPED)
- Experience working with middle school students and supporting those with severe or intensive needs preferred
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs in alignment with state and federal guidelines
- Skill in creating a supportive, safe, and nurturing learning environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction in a self-contained classroom, promoting academic and behavioral growth for students with severe disabilities
- Develop, adapt, and execute individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress, maintaining thorough and accurate documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school professionals
- Implement classroom management strategies and therapeutic supports as needed
