A school in Elkhart, IN, is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support an 8th-grade caseload of 24 students with a variety of disabilities. This contract position offers an opportunity to work within an inclusive setting, delivering individualized educational services tailored to each students needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction in an inclusive classroom setting for 8th-grade students with diverse disabilities.
- Manage a caseload of 24 students, ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with staff, families, and support services to enhance student learning and development.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress monitoring. Some IEP writing has already been completed for part of the caseload.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with students of varying disability categories.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
- Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Work Schedule:
- 37.5 hours per week.
- School hours daily: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Contract hours approximately: 8:35 AM to 4:10 PM.
