Job Description
Make a genuine impact working as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting, where youll support a caseload of 10 students alongside a dedicated team of seven educational assistants. This contract opportunity is conveniently located near Elk River, MN, and offers a supportive, collaborative environment focused on student growth and success. Youll work with 2nd to 5th graders, with flexibility to support K-5 students as new enrollments occur.
Qualifications & Credentials:
- Valid Special Education (SPED) Certification required
- Previous experience in K-5 or elementary special education preferred
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Strong communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based instructional strategies tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate closely with educational assistants to maintain an optimal staff-to-student ratio
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Engage in data-driven decision-making for academic and behavioral supports
- Foster open communication with guardians and multidisciplinary team members
- Document progress and maintain compliance with special education requirements
This full-time position offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, providing consistent and reliable weekly scheduling.
