Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-specific)
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Demonstrated experience working with students with various disabilities and learning needs
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt learning materials
- Flexible, compassionate, and patient approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct special education instruction to students in various settings
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and school administration
- Facilitate IEP meetings and communicate regularly with parents/guardians
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation of student performance and required records
- Support a classroom environment that is engaging, safe, and respectful of all learners
