Job Description

Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers to join a forward-thinking school community for the 20262027 academic year. This contract position offers the chance to work in well-supported, self-contained special education classrooms, with a variety of roles across autism, MCI, and learning disabilities programs for grades K10.

Your workday will be full-time, totaling 32.5 hours per week, with a 6.5-hour schedule each school day. The district emphasizes manageable class sizes, particularly in autism classrooms that feature impressive student-to-teacher ratios of 2:1 or 3:1. Every classroom benefits from paraprofessional support, dedicated case managers focused on IEP management, and the use of Frontline for seamless IEP processing. A cadre of recently hired Behavior Specialists provides additional resources and expertise.

Available placements span:

  • Autism Levels 13: Openings in multiple elementary, middle, and high school grades
  • Multiple Disabilities (MCI): Grades 35 and 7th Grade
  • Learning Disabilities: 7th and 8th Grade

What You Bring:

  • Valid New Jersey Special Education certification (Teacher of Students with DisabilitiesTOSD, or Teacher of the HandicappedTOHand appropriate primary certification)
  • Endorsements appropriate for the targeted grade level or subject
