Job Description

Embark on a rewarding role as a Special Education Teacher supporting students' growth and success in a vibrant school community near Elgin, SC. This contract position begins August 7th, 2024, and continues through May 28th, 2025, with full-time hours (3540 each week) available across elementary (7:00am2:30pm), middle (8:00am3:00pm), and high school (8:00am3:30pm) settings.

As an integral educator, you will help students with diverse learning and emotional needs thrive. Opportunities are open in both resource and self-contained classrooms, including positions working with students who have learning or emotional disabilities or require specialized educational approaches.

Qualifications:

  • Current Special Education teaching license.
  • Teaching certificate endorsed in Learning Disabilities or Multi-Categorical Special Education.
  • Experience with elementary, middle, or high school students preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Dedication to inclusive education and individualized student support.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students unique strengths and needs.
  • Foster a supportive, structured learning environment for students with a variety of abilities and backgrounds.
  • Work collaboratively with general education teachers, families, and support personnel.
  • Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet each students learning needs.
  • Maintain documentation and support students' academic and social-emotional progress.
