Job Description

This full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity supports K-5th grade students in an elementary school setting near Elmwood Park, IL. The position involves four co-teaching sections alongside one instructional section, delivering tailored education to meet diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach specialized lessons for students with disabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure compliance and student progress.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students across various subjects and skill levels.
  • Communicate effectively with families, school staff, and related service providers to promote student success.
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance instructional practices.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a current Illinois Professional Educator License; LBS1 certification preferred. Candidates with Type 73 School Psychologist or School Social Worker credentials will also be considered.
  • Minimum of three years successful experience teaching students with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in IEP development and implementation aligned with state and federal guidelines.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working within a multidisciplinary school team.
