An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a resource classroom setting. This full-time contract position spans from ASAP to May 29, 2026, requiring a commitment of 35 to 37.5 hours per week. Located in Elgin, IL, this role focuses on serving a caseload of 4th and 5th-grade students, fostering their academic growth and individual development in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the unique needs of special education students
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to enhance student outcomes
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of student progress and IEP compliance
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and learning
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold an active Illinois Special Education teaching license and PEL
- Proven prior experience working in special education within a school setting
- Strong expertise in managing resource classrooms and supporting diverse learners
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to student-centered education and inclusive teaching practices
