Qualifications:
- Valid California Special Education (SPED) Teaching License is required
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities is highly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with staff, families, and specialists
- Deep understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs), accommodations, and learning strategies
- Flexibility and compassion, adapting teaching approaches to best support individual learning styles
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized instruction based on the students IEP goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor personalized lesson plans targeting academic, social, and life skills
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and family members to coordinate care and optimize student progress
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to address behavioral challenges and encourage student engagement
- Track and assess students progress, documenting outcomes and adapting instruction as needed
- Foster a supportive, safe classroom atmosphere that nurtures growth and confidence
