Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education (SPED) teaching license (no emergency certifications accepted)
  • Experience working with elementary and/or PreK students in a special education setting, with particular emphasis on autism spectrum and early intervention
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate a range of learning abilities and needs
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to students unique abilities and education plans
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Track and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to achieve learning objectives
  • Communicate regularly with families and other school professionals for ongoing support and student advocacy
  • Participate in professional development and school meetings to stay updated on best practices
