Step into a dynamic educational environment as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students and collaborating with dedicated professionals. This contract position begins September 1, 2026, and extends through June 2, 2027, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across elementary, middle, and high school levels near Eden Prairie, MN.
This full-time opportunity includes multiple leave coverage positions in both resource rooms and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) settings. Youll work in-person with students in supportive classroom environments tailored to meet diverse needs.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education (SPED) license, tier 3 or 4 required
- Experience in special education, particularly in ASD (preferred)
- Comfort and expertise managing diverse caseloads in elementary, middle, or high school
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with families, students, and staff
- Ability to employ individualized instructional strategies aligned with IEP goals
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in ASD setting 3 classrooms (elementary: 2.0 FTE, middle school: 1.0 FTE)
- Serve as a resource teacher for special education students (middle school: 2.0 FTE, high school: 1.0 FTE)
- Develop and implement student IEPs and behavioral intervention plans
- Monitor student progress, adapting teaching approaches as necessary
- Maintain accurate records, conduct team meetings, and communicate regularly with all stakeholders
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
