Job Description

A school district in Eden, North Carolina is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for a fulltime, schoolbased contract. This position serves K12 students and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative educational environment with ongoing professional and administrative support. Candidates with a passion for inclusive instruction and IEPdriven teaching are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and educational support to students with mild/moderate or moderate/severe disabilities
• Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and North Carolina state regulations
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families
• Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments to meet individual student needs
• Conduct assessments, collect data, and monitor progress toward IEP goals
• Participate in and facilitate IEP meetings while ensuring procedural compliance
• Maintain accurate documentation and student records
• Support a structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Special Education teaching license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Appropriate endorsement based on assignment
• Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
• Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates

Education

• Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field

Experience

• Previous schoolbased or special education experience preferred
• New graduates with appropriate credentials are encouraged to apply

Work Hours

• MondayFriday
• 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
• Approximately 3740 hours per week
