Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for K-12 (state-specific requirements apply)
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Experience with a variety of instructional techniques to support diverse learners
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both staff and families
- Ability to establish a positive, inclusive classroom culture
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to students individual education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support personnel to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student development and challenges
- Modify curriculum and assessments as needed to address varying abilities and needs
- Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current on best practices and compliance requirements
