Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current teaching certification in Special Education, or eligibility to earn certification
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
- Demonstrated ability to deliver differentiated instruction tailored to varied learning needs
- Experience in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaborative skills; able to partner with general education teachers, families, and support staff
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management abilities
- Willingness to maintain ongoing professional development
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized and group instruction aligned with students IEP goals
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging independence and self-advocacy
- Assess student progress; maintain accurate documentation and update IEPs as needed
- Adapt curriculum materials and strategies to ensure accessibility for all learners
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support
- Participate in meetings, parent conferences, and professional learning activities
- Cultivate a classroom atmosphere of respect, belonging, and high expectations
