Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (State of South Carolina or eligibility)
• Prior experience working with students with a variety of learning challenges and disabilities

• Ability to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborative mindset for partnering with general educators, support staff, and families
• Creativity, patience, and flexibility when adapting materials and instructional strategies

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging, individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs
• Develop, write, and maintain student IEPs, monitoring progress and updating goals as required
• Partner with families, school professionals, and support staff to best advocate for student success
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and independence
• Assess student needs and maintain accurate records of progress and behavioral interventions
• Participate in professional development opportunities and special education team meetings
