Job Description

Make a difference every day by supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher working with a dedicated group of young learners on the autism spectrum. This full-time contract position is based near Dover, NH, and offers the chance to contribute your expertise in a vibrant and inclusive school setting. Youll work closely with a small caseload of six students, providing personalized learning and case management to nurture growth and academic success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience teaching elementary-aged students, preferably those with autism
  • Strong case management skills, including developing and monitoring IEPs
  • Effective communication abilities to engage with students, families, and colleagues
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments
  • Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies for individual student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of six elementary students with autism, ensuring their academic and emotional needs are met
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other educators and parents
  • Deliver tailored instruction and interventions in both one-on-one and small group settings
  • Monitor progress, maintain records, and communicate updates to families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide support and guidance to classroom staff, reinforcing best practices and strategies for working with students on the autism spectrum
  • Participate in ongoing team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
