A school-based opportunity is available for Special Education Teachers to serve students with disabilities in Dover, DE. This contract position runs from ASAP through June 9th and primarily involves supporting one school within the district. Candidates with the Delaware Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities Standard Certificate are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specially designed instruction to students with disabilities according to their individual needs
- Collaborating with school staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Coordinating with related service providers and supporting staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid Delaware Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities Standard Certificate
- Experience working in special education settings preferred, particularly with K-12 age groups (specific caseload age to be determined)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school teams
- Flexibility to adapt to varying student needs and district requirements
This role offers full-time hours in a supportive school environment with virtual panel interviews conducted as part of the hiring process. Onboarding includes district-specific requirements and fingerprint clearance prior to starting. The position is part of a district with multiple contractors, providing a collaborative professional atmosphere.
