As a valued member of our special education faculty, you will collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and support staff to create inclusive and effective learning experiences. Ideal candidates will possess:
- Valid Alaska teaching license with current Type C (Special Education) certification
- Demonstrated experience in special education instruction, IEP development, and compliance
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to in-person teaching; remote or virtual delivery is not available for this role
- Genuine dedication to supporting students with varying needs and backgrounds
- Ability to provide licensure verification and certification documentation
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction aligned with students IEP goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and specialists
- Maintain accurate records and documentation required for compliance and reporting
- Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate varied learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, therapists, and administrators to support student progress
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and success
