Job Description
Make a difference in young learners lives by bringing your expertise in special education to a dynamic elementary school environment. This full-time contract opportunity supports second and third grade students with developmental delays or intellectual disabilities. Youll work onsite from 8:00AM2:30PM, with a start date as soon as possible and a commitment through June 25, 2026.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts license/certification required for Moderate or Severe Disabilities
- Demonstrated school-based special education teaching experience
- Experience working with elementary-aged children with developmental delays or intellectual impairments
- Completion of CORI background check and fingerprinting required (or a letter of suitability from a previous employer may be accepted for fingerprints)
- Comfortable working onsite daily at the school
- Prepared to participate in a Zoom interview
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support based on IEP goals and student needs
- Develop effective lesson plans and strategies for students with varying abilities
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, specialists, and general education teachers
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families and related service providers
