Qualifications and Experience:

• Active teaching certification in Special Education (state requirements must be met)
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education, Education, or a related field
• Prior classroom experience working with students who have special needs preferred
• Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptable to various teaching methods and able to modify curriculum as needed
• Demonstrated patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for student advocacy

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students IEPs
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture supporting academic, social, and emotional growth
• Regularly assess student progress, modify instruction, and participate in IEP meetings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Maintain organized records and document student performance and behavior
• Use adaptive technologies and resources to enhance learning experiences
• Address behavioral and instructional challenges using evidence-based strategies
