Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by supporting their growth and learning in a dynamic school environment. This full-time contract opportunity places you at one school location, where youll create and implement engaging educational experiences tailored to students unique needs.
Youll work with two distinct groups: a 4th and 5th-grade resource room with approximately 20 elementary students, and a high school Special Education ELA classroom, supporting about 20 students through both pull-out instruction and co-teaching models. The role is ideal for those passionate about fostering student success and collaboration among talented educators.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Missouri Special Education Teaching Certification (MO SPED)
- Experience working with elementary and/or high school students in special education settings
- Proficient in developing, modifying, and implementing IEPs
- Skilled at collaboration with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management abilities
- Commitment to supporting diverse learning needs and building inclusive spaces
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support to either a 4th/5th-grade resource room or a high school ELA special education classroom
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with co-teachers, support staff, and administrators to maximize student success
- Maintain positive, supportive relationships with students and families
- Participate in professional development as required
