About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate contracted Special Education Teacher to fill an opening in the Detroit, MI area. This role involves supporting students with diverse learning needs by delivering individualized instruction, fostering an inclusive classroom environment, and collaborating with staff and families to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills
Adapt general education curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and parents
Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions
Participate in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
Valid Michigan teaching certification with Special Education endorsement
Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Commitment to equity and inclusive education
