Job Description

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Special Education Teaching License required
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Early Childhood Special Education (ZS) approval or appropriate endorsement for infants and toddlers
  • Experience supporting young children with a range of behavioral needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to adapt and develop individualized plans to fit diverse developmental profiles
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing atmosphere for all learners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons and individualized education plans (IEPs) for children birth to age three
  • Assess students needs and document developmental progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
  • Collaborate closely with classroom assistants, therapists, and family members
  • Support students social, emotional, and cognitive growth throughout the school year
  • Utilize evidence-based practices for positive behavior intervention and support
  • Embrace professional growth opportunities and contribute to team meetings
