The role is based in proximity to Madison Heights, MI, with an immediate start and runs through May 2026.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teaching License required
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Early Childhood Special Education (ZS) approval or appropriate endorsement for infants and toddlers
- Experience supporting young children with a range of behavioral needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt and develop individualized plans to fit diverse developmental profiles
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing atmosphere for all learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons and individualized education plans (IEPs) for children birth to age three
- Assess students needs and document developmental progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Collaborate closely with classroom assistants, therapists, and family members
- Support students social, emotional, and cognitive growth throughout the school year
- Utilize evidence-based practices for positive behavior intervention and support
- Embrace professional growth opportunities and contribute to team meetings
