Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Previous experience working with K-8 students with diverse learning needs
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong understanding of instructional strategies tailored for special education
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff
  • Compassion, patience, and adaptability in responding to student needs
  • Comfortable with progress monitoring and data-driven instruction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging daily lessons that accommodate various learning styles and abilities
  • Develop, write, and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage classroom behavior and provide a welcoming, structured environment for all students
  • Track student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive participation
  • Maintain open communication with families to discuss student progress and strategies for support
  • Engage in professional development and stay informed of best practices in special education
