Key Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching License
- ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) certification required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in autism support settings, is highly valued
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with fellow educators, therapists, and families
- Ability to adapt instruction and environment to meet individual student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored instructional plans for students in K-1st grades with autism
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to promote learning and social development
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to provide a well-rounded educational experience
- Maintain thorough documentation on student progress, goals, and communication with team members
- Create a classroom culture that prioritizes safety, respect, and inclusivity for all students
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized goal-setting
