This is a full-time special education teaching opportunity in Detroit, MI, working within an elementary school setting. The position involves supporting a diverse range of students in a resource room and a creative learning program designed for self-contained special education classrooms. The role includes managing an elementary school caseload with a focus on both lower elementary and older students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students in a resource room and self-contained classroom environments.
- Implement creative learning strategies tailored to meet the needs of students with special education requirements.
- Manage individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with school staff to support student success.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse student populations within the district.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Education; a Masters or Doctoral degree in Special Education is preferred.
- Valid Michigan special education teaching certificate; sub-licenses are not accepted.
- Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage an elementary special education caseload.
