Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students in a full-time contract position. This role involves working with elementary students in kindergarten through 5th grade within a resource setting to help meet their unique educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs.
  • Provide targeted instruction and support to students with diverse learning challenges.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and district special education regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching License (MI SPED) is required.
  • Experience teaching in a resource room or similar special education setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students (kindergarten through 5th grade).
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, staff, and administration.

Location and Schedule:

  • Position is based in Mt Clemens, MI.
  • Full-time hours.
  • Contract duration: Starting ASAP through the end of June.
