Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity shaping the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging, supportive school environment. This contract position runs from August 11, 2026, through May 24, 2027, and offers a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week within inclusion/resource settings or structured classrooms.

There are four available positions with varied caseloads at the elementary and middle school level. You could work with small groups ranging from 5 to 10 students and collaborate closely with paraprofessional staff and co-teachers, providing meaningful support to students academic and behavioral growth. Candidates who value adaptability and are comfortable with toileting assistance and managing diverse behaviors will thrive in this setting.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Valid and active Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
  • Previous experience in inclusion/resource or structured classroom settings highly desired
  • Comfort providing personal care and behavior support to students as needed
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and interventions to students with varying needs
  • Develop and implement IEPs, collaborating with staff, families, and support personnel
  • Monitor and track student progress, ensuring documentation is up-to-date
  • Collaborate with co-teachers, paras, and related service providers
  • Model and reinforce positive behavior support strategies
  • Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
