Job Description

Embark on an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year in the Des Plaines, IL area. This full-time contract position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated classroom with a manageable caseload of no more than eight students. Grade level will be determined based on the districts needs, giving you the chance to shape your classroom experience.

In this position, youll be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs. Your expertise in lesson planning, classroom management, and the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) will be central to student success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education (SPED) teaching license
  • Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher
  • Strong knowledge of IEP creation and compliance
  • Effective classroom management and lesson planning skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Teach across a caseload of no more than eight students (grade level TBD)
  • Develop and execute engaging lesson plans to meet individual student needs
  • Manage classroom environments that support learning and positive behavior
  • Write and implement IEPs, maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and support personnel to ensure student progress
  • Work staff hours from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm daily
