Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students as a Special Education Teacher working full-time with a small, dedicated caseload. This rewarding contract position focuses on supporting students with autism in an inclusive, nurturing learning environment. With approximately six students under your care, you'll play a key role in fostering academic, behavioral, and social growth while collaborating with colleagues and families.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for New Hampshire (or eligibility to obtain)
- Proven success working with elementary-aged students, especially those on the autism spectrum
- Experience in case management, including IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction and support to meet diverse learner needs
- Patience, flexibility, and a passion for helping children thrive
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction and support to elementary students with autism in line with individual education plans
- Develop, review, and maintain IEPs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families to ensure each students needs are addressed
- Lead case management, monitoring student progress, updating documentation, and communicating milestones
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence and engagement
- Offer guidance and resources to general education teachers and classroom aides regarding accommodations and best practices
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
