Sunbelt Staffing is partnering with a welcoming school district in the Denver, Colorado area to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher (SPED) for a full-time contract position. This role offers the opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs by creating engaging, individualized instruction in an inclusive educational environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about student growth, collaboration, and helping every learner reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address each student's academic and functional goals
  • Deliver differentiated instruction to students with a variety of learning disabilities and exceptionalities
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Foster a positive, structured classroom environment that supports student success

Skills

  • Strong classroom management and instructional planning abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices and behavioral interventions
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Qualifications

  • Active Colorado Special Education Teaching License
  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education endorsement or eligibility
  • Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance
  • Experience implementing accommodations and modifications for diverse learners preferred

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related education field
  • Master's degree preferred but not required

Experience

  • Previous experience teaching students with disabilities in a school setting preferred
  • Experience with resource, inclusion, or self-contained classrooms is a plus
  • Recent graduates with appropriate licensure are encouraged to apply

Compensation for this position ranges from $35.00 to $57.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
