Seeking passionate Special Education Teachers to make a profound impact in North Denver area schools for the 2026-2027 academic year! This contract opportunity places you in a supportive, collaborative environment, where your expertise in Structured Learning Services (SLS), Significant Support Needs (SSN), and mild/moderate disabilities will be highly valued. Positions are available in both full-time (37.5 hrs/week) and part-time (.5 FTE) capacities at elementary, middle, and high school levels, with assignments limited to one campus each.
What you'll bring:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education certification with Special Education endorsement
- Experience supporting students with significant autism, emotional dysregulation, and/or complex learning and behavioral needs
- Familiarity using and implementing AAC devices and other assistive technology
- Strong skills in de-escalation, data-driven instruction, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Comfort managing classroom aides and collaborating with push-in specialists
- Ability to foster life skills development and adaptive routines for elementary students
Your responsibilities:
- Lead or co-lead self-contained classrooms (typically 8-15 students), often supported by paraprofessionals or another teacher
- Develop individualized educational programs (IEPs), personalized lesson plans, and progress monitoring systems
- Promote inclusion and participation for students with various cognitive, communicative, and mobility needs
- Implement data-informed behavioral support strategies, especially for students with severe emotional and behavioral challenges
- Facilitate life skills and adaptive behavior programming, particularly in SLS classrooms, to help students thrive in daily school routines
- Collaborate continuously with families, related service providers, and school teams
